Educational purpose & regulatory status

SmartPrescribe is an educational tool designed for healthcare professionals and students. Content is for learning and professional development only and does not constitute clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

Not a medical device: The platform is not marketed or intended as a medical device under applicable regulations.
Not clinical decision support (CDS): SmartPrescribe is not regulated or positioned as regulated clinical decision support software. It does not replace professional judgment, local protocols, or authoritative prescribing resources (including the BNF, MHRA, FDA labeling in context, and national guidelines).
No clinical duty of care: Nothing in these Terms creates a doctor–patient or other clinical relationship between you and SmartPrescribe.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SmartPrescribe, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the platform.

2. Professional use only

This platform is designed for healthcare professionals and students. By creating an account, you represent that you are using it in a professional or educational capacity. You agree to provide accurate professional information where requested.

3. AI content, third-party data, and your responsibility

AI-generated text and automated summaries are provided for education only. Drug and dosing information may be sourced from third-party APIs (including FDA drug labels via openFDA). Labelling and approved indications can differ between jurisdictions (for example, US FDA labels vs UK BNF / MHRA). You must verify any information relevant to patient care against current local guidelines and formularies before clinical use.

You are solely responsible for:

The confidentiality of your login credentials.
Ensuring appropriate consent and governance where you use documentation or scribe features in real clinical settings.
Independently verifying AI-generated and third-party content against official sources before relying on it in practice.

4. Intellectual property

The SmartPrescribe platform, including its software, UI/UX design, and curated content workflows, is the property of SmartPrescribe and its licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute any part of the service except as expressly permitted.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmartPrescribe and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on the platform, including any clinical decisions made using content obtained through the app (whether AI-generated, imported from third-party data sources, or otherwise).

You acknowledge that you exercise your own professional judgment and that use of the platform is at your sole risk.
